So we bought this double decker bus on Ebay…
…and after sometime refurbishing it and turning it into a Playbus/Youth Community Project, we now use it on the estates around the Chapel as a drop in centre. We are also using it on Sundays for some of our kids groups. It’s a great resource that we will be developing over the next couple of years and will enable us to reach out to our community in a creative and practical way.
After School Drop In Club
We run regular After School Clubs for primary school age children in Graylingwell Park and Winterbourne areas.
The sessions offer the children a warm, safe and fun environment to hang out in after a busy day at school. Sessions are offered free of charge and includes table football, PS3’s, craft, games and tuck shop. The Graylingwell Park After School club is partly sponsored by Affinity Sutton and the Community Development Trust
The Bus project is manned by church youth workers & university students.
Big Plans For 2012
The bus is being painted early in 2012 and then we will be using this great new mobile facility for a variety of initiatives in the community.
