So we bought this double decker bus on Ebay…
…and after sometime refurbishing it and turning it into a Playbus/Youth Community Project, we now use it on the estates around the Chapel as a drop in centre. We are also using it on Sundays for some of our kids groups. It’s a great resource that we will be developing over the next couple of years and will enable us to reach out to our community in a creative and practical way.
After School Drop In Club
We run regular after school drop-in clubs for primary school age children in Graylingwell Park and Winterbourne areas.
The sessions offer the children a warm, safe and fun environment to hang out in after a busy day at school. Sessions are offered free of charge and includes table football, PS3’s, craft, games and tuck shop.
The Bus project is manned by church youth workers & university students.
Big Plans For 2012
The bus is being painted early in 2012 and then we will be using this great new mobile facility for a variety of initiatives in the community.
